Dhaka, Feb. 21 -- The Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo observed the Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day with due solemnity on Friday.
The day's formalities began in the morning with Ambassador Md. Daud Ali placing a floral wreath at the Shaheed Minar at Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park in Toshima City. Embassy officials, expatriate Bangladeshis, and other guests paid tribute to the language martyrs through a 'Provat Feri'.
Later, the national flag was hoisted and lowered to half-mast at the embassy premises, with officials singing the national anthem in unison.
