Dhaka, March 13 -- Bangladesh has been elected vice president of South Asian Para Sports Federation.

The election was held recently at Taj Palace Hotel in India's New Delhi.

India was elected president, while Maldives secured the position of secretary general; Pakistan followed the position of Bangladesh, with Nepal and Bhutan becoming treasure and director-at large respectively.

The newly elected committee will perform duty for next three years.

Majid Rashid, president of Asian Paralympic Committee, conducted the election.
