Dhaka, June 2 -- Indonesian Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir on Monday described Bangladesh as their 'strategic' and an 'important trade partner' in the South Asia region.

The Vice Minister, who is leading a trade delegation to Bangladesh, met Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed the issues of mutual interest.

During the call on, the dignitaries discussed a wide range of bilateral, regional and trade and investment related issues.

The visiting Minister emphasised boosting people-to-people contacts, especially among students and academics.

The Foreign Adviser stressed the importance of regular institutional dialogues for deepening bilateral relations.
