Dhaka, Feb. 1 -- Bangladesh and Zambia have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance trade cooperation.

The bilateral issues came up when newly appointed High Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia to Bangladesh (resident in New Delhi), Percy P. Chanda, paid his inaugural visit to Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

During the meeting, High Commissioner Chanda expressed Zambia's interest in importing Bangladeshi pharmaceutical products and invited Bangladesh to explore opportunities for establishing a pharmaceutical plant in Zambia.
