Jhenaidah, Oct. 24 -- AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju on Friday said an alliance may be formed with the new political parties that emerged from the July Uprising, ahead of the upcoming national election.

He made the remark while addressing a views-exchange meeting with journalists organised by the Jhenaidah district unit of the AB Party.

Manju said discussions regarding the formation of such an alliance are underway, although it has not been finalised yet.

"We expect to make a clear announcement soon," he added.

Recalling the victory of people's power, he cited the anti-autocracy movement of the 1990s and the sacrifices of Shaheed Dr Milon and Noor Hossain.
