, Aug. 28 -- year old girl died after being bitten by a snake in Gangni upazila of Meherpur district on Thursday morning.

The deceased was Faria Khatun, daughter of Haider Ali alias Bablu of Olinagar village and a student of class two of Terail Government Primary School.

Faria was bitten by the snake while she was asleep at home, said Bani Israil, Officer-in-Charge of Gangni Police Station.

Family members took her to traditional healer but she died in the morning.
