Faridpur, Nov. 29 -- Thirty people were injured in sporadic clashes between two groups of villagers over establishing supremacy at Balia Bazar in Saltha upazila of Faridpur district on Saturday.

KM Maruf Haan Russel, officer-in-charge of Saltha Police Station, said Zahid Matubbar and Nuru Matabbar had been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy in the area.

As a sequel to the enmity, the supporters of both groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other in phases at Balia Bazar, leaving 30 people injured.

The clashes took place between 6 am to 12 pm on Saturday.
