, Aug. 28 -- A total of 268 officers have been promoted from senior assistant secretary to deputy secretary in the administration - the Ministry of Public Administration confirmed on Thursday.

The promotion notification also includes six officers serving at foreign embassies and missions.

All promoted officers have been made special officers (OSD) at the Ministry of Public Administration, but their posting orders have not yet been issued.

Among the promoted officials, 192 are from the administration cadre and 76 from other cadres and most promotions were based on the 30th batch of BCS, though officers from earlier batches who were previously skipped are also included.
