Gazipur, May 16 -- The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two suspected members of banned militant group Hizb-ut-Tahrir Bangladesh from Sreepur upazila on Tuesday.

The arrestees were identified as Hamid Siraji, 33, son of Suruzzaman Sheikh of Sirajganj; and Osama Fazle, 29, son of Abu Hena Fazle Elahi of Dhanmondi.

Tipped off, a team of Rab-1, led by Lt Commander Abdullah Al-Mamun, raided the house of one Delwar in the afternoon and arrested them.

Twenty-three Jihadi books, a notebook and a mobile phone were also seized, Rab said in a press release on Thursday.

Rab said Siraji and Fazle worked as 'think tanks' and financers of the group.
