Dhaka, Feb. 20 -- winning actress Cynthia Erivo has been chosen to host this year's Tony Awards, set to take place on June 8 at Radio City Music Hall.

Erivo, known for her role in Wicked, has received numerous accolades, including a Grammy, Emmy, and Tony, along with a Golden Globe, SAG Award, and three Oscar nominations.

She expressed her excitement about the opportunity, calling it a "glorious honour." She hopes to guide the theatre community through a night dedicated to celebrating outstanding performances from the past year.

The Tony Awards, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, will be broadcast live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
