, Feb. 12 -- Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Thursday said 'a new Bangladesh is born' as the nation cast its votes in the election, urging all to participate in the referendum as well.

"Today is the birthday of a new Bangladesh. We will celebrate this birthday throughout the day," he said after casting his ballot at the Gulshan Model School and College centre in the capital.

"Through this, we have discarded the past. We have completely rejected the nightmarish past. We have got the opportunity to create a new Bangladesh," he said.
