LONDON, Feb. 8 -- The government of the United Kingdom issued the following news:

* Fishing without a licence and leaving his fishing rod in the water has cost an angler from Newark a total penalty of 731 euro * Fisheries enforcement officers clamp down on illegal angling to protect fish stocks and make fishing sustainable

Ramunas Zukauskas, 32, of Byron Close was found guilty in absence at Northampton Magistrates Court on Monday 15 January 2024. He has received a total penalty of 731 euro for leaving his fishing rod in the water and for fishing without a licence at the River Trent, Newark Dyke on 1 July 2023.

The penalty includes fines of 220 euro and 200 euro, costs of 135 euro and a victim surcharge of 176 euro. An annual fishing lice...
