India, Jan. 13 -- Indian Railways will operate three special trains between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, to facilitate the travel of pilgrims attending the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.

Considered the world's largest religious congregation, the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 will span 44 days, from January 13 to February 26. Introducing these special trains aims to ensure a smooth and convenient travel experience for the millions of devotees expected to attend the festival. While the Maha Kumbh occurs every 12 years, the 2025 event is unique owing to a rare celestial alignment of the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, and Shani, which occurs once every 144 years.
