India, April 17 -- Germany is experiencing a good upswing in tourist arrivals from India, driven by increased air connectivity, specially crafted travel packages, and proactive engagement efforts by the German tourism sector. In 2024, Indian travellers' overnight stays in Germany reached 897,841, marking an 8.6 percent increase compared to the 826,703 stays recorded in 2023. This surge is supported by a dramatic rise in direct flights between the two nations, from 241 in January 2019 to 309 in January 2025, making travel more convenient than ever. Reflecting this growing interest, German visa applications from Indian travellers saw an approximate 20 percent increase between January and March 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
