India, Feb. 21 -- While Hawaii remains a sought-after destination for travellers worldwide, its status as a tropical paradise has led to challenges with overtourism. The popularity of shows like The White Lotus Season 1 (2021), which featured Hawaii, has only fueled the desirability of this island state in the Pacific. Consequently, Hawaii has experienced overcrowding, straining its roads, beaches, and local amenities. In response, Governor Josh Green has introduced a proposal for a $25 (INR 2,071) climate fee aimed at mitigating overtourism in Hawaii.
