New Hyde Park, Jan. 7 -- The Parker Jewish Institute rang in the New Year in style when local fire departments presented a "Sea of Lights" celebration, which was followed by a Times-Square-style Ball Drop on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 5:15 p.m. The merriment helped residents, patients and their family members welcome the New Year.

The Parker community gathered to see the dazzling light display to begin their New Year's Eve festivities, which continued with refreshments and live music. Members of Engine 251 of Glen Oaks, the Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department, Garden City Fire Department, New Hyde Park Fire Department, the 105 Precinct and SeniorCare EMS supported the Sea of Lights celebration.
