US, Jan. 8 -- Ottawa: Canada's Indian-origin Transport Minister Anita Anand is in the race to become the next Canadian Prime Minister. Justin Trudeau, the current Prime Minister, announced his decision this week to step down ahead of the 2025 elections. He said he would step down once the ruling Liberal Party Liberal Party elects a new leader.
Anand expressed gratitude towards Trudeau for his leadership and dedication, In a post on X, she wrote, "Thank you, Prime Minister. Thank you for your leadership and for your dedication to our country. It has been an honor and privilege to serve Canadians with you."
