NIGERIA, Dec. 1 -- According to sources, the attack was foiled through the combined efforts of the Nigerian Army, members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), and local hunters.
Residents who spoke with The News Chronicle on Monday said the assault began around 11:50 a.m. on Sunday. However, information about the incident remains limited due to poor mobile network coverage in the area.
This development comes shortly after insurgents attempted to infiltrate Chibok, another Borno community, but were also pushed back by Nigerian military forces.
As of the time of filing this report, details regarding the scale of the attack, casualties, and the full response from security forces in Izge have not yet been confirmed
