Nigeria, Nov. 18 -- Many citizens say their confidence in Nigeria's security system has sharply declined as attacks by Boko Haram, bandits, and other armed groups continue to claim lives.
Speaking to The News Chronicle on Tuesday, residents and experts shared concerns over the worsening situation.
Mohammed Bundi, an economic analyst in Maiduguri, said the prolonged insecurity has crippled Nigeria's economy.
"The issue of insecurity has already damaged the economy of this country," he said. "If a Brigadier General can be easily killed, what will happen to ordinary citizens? This has been happening since 2009. When will insecurity end?"
