Nigeria, Nov. 15 -- Troops of the 25 Task Force Brigade on a routine patrol to secure communities around Wajiroko in Azir Multe, Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, came under sudden and heavy fire from insurgents as they returned from a successful operation around the edges of the Sambisa Forest.
The patrol team, led by the Commander of the 25 Brigade, Brigadier General M. Uba, included soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
They bravely fought through the ambush using superior firepower, forcing the insurgents to retreat in disarray and abandon their mission.
Unfortunately, two soldiers and two CJTF members lost their lives in the encounter while serving the nation.
