Dhaka, May 28 -- 126th birth anniversary of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was observed at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) through a vibrant two-day programme that concluded on Monday.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the conferring of the prestigious Nazrul Padak 2025. This year, Professor Dr. Rashidun Nabi was honoured for his significant contributions to Nazrul research, while Mohammad Yakub Ali Khan, a distinguished artist, was awarded for his work in Nazrul Sangeet (music). The awards were presented at the university's "Gahi Samyer Gaan" stage by Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dhaka, and Professor Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Nazrul University.
