Dhaka, March 20 -- Italian football player Antonio Candreva announced his retirement through social media on Tuesday, ending his nearly 20-year career.

Born in Rome, Candreva was mainly deployed as a right winger on the pitch and has played for Juventus, Lazio, Inter Milan and many other clubs with more than 500 Serie A appearances, but he just won one trophy when he claimed the Coppa Italia with Lazio in 2012-2013 season.

Candreva has been a free agent since his contract with Salernitana expired last season and just celebrated his 38'th Birthday last month.
