KUPWARA, Jan. 22 -- Acting tough against erring traders, the market checking teams across all tehsils of district Kupwara today visited various markets in their respective jurisdictions during which fine to the tune of Rs.36400 was realized from erring traders, and 204 kg rotten vegetables and food stuff was destroyed on the spot.

Market inspection was carried out on second consecutive day today across all 16 tehsils of Kupwara to ensure fair trade practices and maintain the quality of goods sold in the markets.

The initiative aims to curb profiteering, hoarding, and sale of substandard goods, while safeguarding the interests of consumers.
