Dhaka, Dec. 2 -- Two people, including a pickup van driver, were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup van in Bahubal upazila of Habiganj district on Tuesday.

The accident took place at around 8:30 am in the Mauchak area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway when a Dhaka-bound truck collided head-on with a Sylhet-bound pickup van.

The impact left the pickup driver dead on the spot, while its passenger, vegetable trader Liton, sustained critical injuries, reports BSS.

Upon receiving information, a team from the Shayesthaganj Highway Police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured passenger. Liton was taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later.
