Dhaka, March 13 -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) of police Md Baharul Alam today (Thursday) warned of taking tougher action if anyone blocks road to press home to realize any demand.

"No one can block roads in the name of realizing any demand. It is unacceptable to create suffering of the people ahead of the Eid by blocking roads. We will take strict action if any one blocks road," he said, BSS reports.

The police chief said this while speaking to the journalists after attending a welfare meeting with the members of various units of Industrial Police at the Industrial Police Headquarters in Gazipur.

Urging everybody to help police to discharge their duties the IGP said, "Don't consider the police as an opponent and don't attack us....
