Dhaka, June 22 -- The first batch of Bangladeshis is expected to be evacuated from Iran next week, officials of the foreign ministry said on Sunday.

In light of the war situation that has arisen in Iran, Bangladesh has initiated the necessary process of repatriation for all Bangladeshi nationals residing there who are willing to return, a spokesman of the ministry said.

The ministry requests that those interested in repatriation try to reach the Embassy of Bangladesh as soon as possible. In addition to this, arrangements are also being discussed for repatriation from other cities in Iran.
