Dhaka, July 10 -- Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has admitted his involvement in crimes against humanity committed during the July-August mass uprising, according to statements made before the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).

Standing in the dock of the tribunal on Thursday, the former police chief submitted a written statement expressing his willingness to unmask others involved in the atrocities. Prosecutors and legal representatives confirmed that he has now become a state witness in the case.
