Dhaka, Feb. 1 -- The European Union's (EU) Border Assistance Mission for the Rafah crossing started on Friday and will last till the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, the European Commission has confirmed.
The civil mission began today "at the request of Palestinians and Israelis," Commission spokesman Anouar El Anouni told reporters at a press briefing, reports Xinhua.
"There will be work with the Palestinian personnel at the borders, helping those who need medical attention," he said, adding that further details cannot be disclosed for security reasons.
