Dhaka, May 6 -- The government has asked all deputy commissioners (DCs) and its agencies to enhance monitoring to prevent the smuggling of spices and keep the price of the essential items under control during and ahead of the upcoming Muslim festival, Eid-ul-Azha.

The National Security Intelligence (NSI) has sent a set of suggestions to the different state entities, including the commerce ministry, in this regard. The suggestions include ensuring adequate stock and increasing import of such spices as per the demand.
