DHAKA, March 27 -- The global travel and tourism industry is witnessing significant negative effects caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic which has infected 532,936 people worldwide resulting in 24,095 deaths till date. To contain the outbreak of the deadly virus, several governments all over the world have imposed total lockdown banning travel to and from the respective countries. In this regard, Bangladesh is no exception.

However, of all the countries, the tourism industry of Bangladesh has been hit the hardest as it generates the highest number of employment in the particular sector than any other country in the world, according to a study published by official-esta.com based on data from Knoema and The World Bank.
