New Delhi, Jan. 28 -- Indian IT major Wipro Ltd on Wednesday announced its partnership with US-based Factory, an agent-native software development platform, as the IT services company sharpens its focus on scaling artificial intelligence-led engineering while navigating margin pressure in the December quarter.

As part of the transaction, Wipro Ventures, the company's corporate investment arm, also participated in Factory's latest funding round, signalling a deeper strategic and financial commitment to agentic AI platforms.

The partnership comes at a time when Wipro is recalibrating its growth levers following its Q3 FY26 results, where revenue rose about 5.5% year-on-year to over Rs.23,500 crore, while net profit declined nearly 7% due to higher employee-related costs and continued caution in enterprise technology spending.

Factory's platform enables engineering teams to delegate large parts of the software development lifecycle, including feature development, refactoring, migrations and testing, to autonomous AI agents, referred to as Droids, while maintaining architectural consistency and engineering governance.

Under the agreement, Factory's platform will be integrated into Wipro's WEGA agent-native delivery platform, strengthening Wipro Intelligence, the company's unified suite of AI-powered platforms and solutions.

The capabilities are expected to be rolled out across tens of thousands of Wipro engineers globally, to accelerate production-ready code delivery, improving code quality and shortening innovation cycles. Wipro plans to take Factory-enabled solutions to clients across key verticals including banking and financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and technology.

Commenting on the partnership, Sandhya Arun, Chief Technology Officer at Wipro, said enterprises are moving rapidly from AI experimentation to production-scale adoption and that the collaboration would help clients modernise engineering using production-grade autonomous agents.

Ali Wasti, Managing Partner at Wipro Ventures, said the investment reinforces Factory's positioning as an enterprise-grade AI platform and aligns with Wipro Ventures' strategy of backing AI-driven software innovation that can scale across global enterprises. Factory co-founder and chief executive Matan Grinberg said the partnership combines Wipro's enterprise reach and engineering depth with Factory's AI-native development platform to significantly improve software delivery performance for global organisations.

Analysts note that despite modest growth and margins are under pressure due to cost headwinds, Wipro's increased focus on agentic AI and platform-led delivery models is aimed at improving productivity, defending pricing and strengthening differentiation in large transformation deals over the medium term.
