Jakarta, July 9 -- Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, today witnessed the signing of the Instrument of Accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) by the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. The Instruments were signed by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Algeria and Uruguay, on the margins of the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings in Kuala Lumpur today. The accession of Algeria and Uruguay brings the number of High Contracting Parties to the TAC to 57.
