Singapore, May 16 -- The ASEAN Geoeconomics Task Force convened today for its first Meeting, attended by senior officials and experts from ASEAN Member States and Timor-Leste.

Co-chaired by YB Mr. Liew Chin Tong, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry of Malaysia and Mr. Djatmiko Bris Witjaksono, Director General of International Trade of Negotiation, Ministry of Trade of Indonesia, the Task Force discussed and exchanged views on regional economic outlook, including the latest situation with the U.S. unilateral tariff policies, national initiatives, and the way forward.
