ABU DHABI, Aug. 24 -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the presence of UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Saturday released a set of postage stamps to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi that falls October 2 this year.

The stamps were issued at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.

The significance of these stamps being launched in the UAE is that the Gulf country is observing 2019 as the Year of Tolerance.

Earlier this year, a Zayed-Gandhi digital museum on Peace, Tolerance and Sustainability was mounted in Abu Dhabi to showcase the shared values and legacy of UAE's founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Mahatma Gandhi, regarded as India's Father of the Nation.
