KATHMANDU, Oct. 8 -- Vehicular movement along Kanti Highway has resumed fully beginning today.
A temporary road has been constructed at the Bagmati Bridge in Baguwa, connecting Makwanpur and Lalitpur. Along with this, half a dozen routes connecting Hetauda and Kathmandu are now fully operational.
The recent flood had swept away half of the Bagmati Bridge. The road towards Lalitpur was already open; however Kanti Highway was blocked as the bridge over the Bagmati River was swept away.
With the assistance of the Nepali Army, a temporary road has been constructed by installing four hump pipes in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality of Makwanpur and Baguwa, Bagmati Rural Municipality of Lalitpur.
