KATHMANDU, Jan. 6 -- The government has announced Rs 1 million in compensation to the family of Jaishankar Sah, who was killed in police firing in the Sarlahi incident on Friday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), issuing a press release on Saturday, announced to provide the amount to Sah's family. The MoHA has also formed a task force led by the ministry's joint-secretary Thaneshwor Gautam to investigate the incident. The taskforce has been asked to submit a report within a week. The committee includes DIG of Nepal Police Surendra Mainali and Director of the National Investigation Department Bhim Bahadur Budhathoki.
