Nigeria, Sept. 14 -- The Emir of Yashikira in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, Imorou Sariki Sabi, has urged the federal and state governments to intensify actions for tackling insecurity in the area.

Mr Sabi made the call while addressing attendees of the annual Gani Festival in Yashikira on Saturday.

He commended the government for restoring peace to communities in the area threatened by the Mahmuda terrorist group, whose commanders were recently apprehended by security operatives.

The emir called for a holistic approach to ending insecurity in the area and allowing farmers to return to their farms to contribute to food security in the country.
