Guyana, Jan. 29 -- On January 22, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a loan agreement with the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana in the capital city Georgetown, to provide Japanese ODA loan for the Water Supply Improvement Project. The signatures were exchanged between Minister of Finance Ashni Singh of the Government of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana and Chief Representative Kota Sakaguchi of JICA Dominican Republic Office. JICA is co-financing this project with Inter-American Development Bank (15,570,000USD).This is the first Japanese ODA loan project with the Co-operative Republic of Guyana.
