Italy, Feb. 12 -- Saipem has secured a contract from T. Mariotti to supply its Hydrone-W remotely operated underwater vehicle for the new oceanographic vessel Arcadia being built for ISPRA, according to Saipem. The full-electric work-class ROV will be deployed for deep-sea and offshore operations, supporting oceanographic observation, ecosystem monitoring and the study of seabed geomorphology and strategic subsea infrastructure. Hydrone-W was developed under Saipem's Hydrone underwater robotics programme and is designed to operate autonomously at depths of up to 3,000 metres.
