Singapore, March 13 -- MacGregor says it has launched a Balanced Lashing System designed to address uneven load distribution in container ship lashings. On conventional container ships, upper lashings typically absorb most of the load while lower lashings operate at roughly half of their safe capacity. The new system introduces elastic elements intended to distribute forces evenly across the entire lashing arrangement.By balancing stress between lashing components, shipowners can increase permissible stack weights and load up to 10% more cargo on deck.
