Bhopal, June 19 -- In a decisive move to ensure the safety of school children, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Bhopal launched a surprise inspection drive on Tuesday, during which six school buses were seized for operating without valid fitness certificates and permits. The action was carried out under the direction of RTO Jitendra Sharma.
The special checking campaign targeted school vehicles flouting safety and documentation norms. All six seized buses are currently impounded at the RTO office pending further legal action.
In addition, three other school vehicles were found carrying students beyond their capacity and operating without valid insurance. The RTO imposed fines amounting to Rs 16,000 on the violators. Shockingly, student...
