India, Oct. 4 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate various welfare schemes in poll-bound Bihar on Saturday, the same day as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and election commissioners of the Election Commission of India (ECI) arrive in the State capital, Patna to review election preparations.
The CEC and election commissioners will be in the State on October 4 and 5. The term of the 243-member Bihar Assembly ends on November 22 and polls in the State are likely to be held in multiple phases beginning at the end of this month. It is a common practice for the ECI officials to visit States before announcing the election schedule.
