Bhopal, June 17 -- A seven-year-old boy, Prahlad Thakur, was killed by a leopard while playing outside his home in Narmadapuram district near the Satpura Tiger Reserve on Sunday evening.

The attack occurred at around 7 PM in Thogapura village on the Singanama-Katiyadhana Road. The leopard bit Prahlad on the neck and face, inflicting fatal injuries.

Hearing his screams, his parents-Sheela Bai and Bhagatram-and relatives rushed out. They bravely managed to pull Prahlad from the leopard's grip after a desperate struggle.

The family first took him to nearby Matkuli village. Deputy Ranger Pankaj Yadav's team then transported him to the hospital for emergency treatment.
