Bhopal, March 12 -- Eight people lost their lives, and 13 others were injured in a head-on collision between an SUV and truck in the City Kotwali area of Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh, around 2:30 am near the Upni Petrol Pump.
Among the deceased, five were women and three were men while six children were among the injured who escaped the accident.
The victims were traveling in two separate vehicles, one heading to Jhokhon in Maihar for a Mundan Sanskar ceremony and the other traveling from Sidhi to Bahri.
The incident was promptly reported by passing villagers and other drivers, who alerted the police and ambulance services.
