Chandigarh, Feb. 19 -- Taking strict action against cyber criminals, Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur on Tuesday said that the Police have arrested 5156 cyber criminals in 2024. Out of the criminals arrested in 2024, 70 percent (3555 criminals) are residents of other states. In the year 2024, an average of 14 cyber criminals have been arrested daily by the Haryana Police, he added.
DGP further said that acting on complaints, about 2165 cases were registered against cyber criminals in 2022 while 2747 cases in 2023 and 5511 in 2024. 1078 cyber criminals were arrested by the Police in 2022 while 1909 in 2023.
