Manila, Feb. 13 -- A South Korean fugitive was apprehended while attempting to extend his tourist visa at the Bureau of Immigration (BI) head office in Intramuros, Manila.
In a news release Thursday, BI Tourist Visa Extension (TVS) Chief Raymond Remigio said Bae Naseok, 30, was arrested by the BI's Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) on Wednesday after authorities confirmed his derogatory records.
When the suspect attempted to extend his visa, BI officers found that he is the subject of a watchlist order and a blacklist order.
He is also considered as an undesirable alien and a threat to public safety, as he is wanted in South Korea for fraud-related offenses.
