Manila, March 4 -- A magnitude 5 earthquake shook Davao del Sur on Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

Phivolcs earlier logged it as magnitude 5.4, but later downgraded it based on the bulletin issued at 10:32 a.m.

The tectonic quake struck 5 kilometers southwest of Matanao at 9:42 a.m. It was 15 kilometers deep.

Intensity V was felt in City of Digos, Magsaysay, Matanao and Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

Intensity IV was reported in Hagonoy and Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur; City of Davao; Kabacan, City of Kidapawan and M'lang, Cotabato; Malungon, Sarangani; Tampakan and Tupi, South Cotabato.
