Manila, April 15 -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bicol (DSWD-5) has launched the Pag-Abot (Reaching Out) Program in four municipalities in the region, aimed at assisting children, individuals and families living on the streets.

In an interview on Tuesday, DSWD-5 project development officer Ranelle Sertan said Baras, Catanduanes; Juban, Sorsogon; San Jose, Camariner Sur; and Bacacay, Albay will each receive PHP2-million municipal fund for community assistance projects.

"The Pag-Abot beneficiaries were street familes from National Capital Region (NCR) to be returned to these towns for more decent and better lives," she said.
