Manila, May 13 -- Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac extended government assistance to the family of United Kingdom (UK)-based overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Jerrick Gomez, who died after an accident in Bramshott, Hampshire, in April.

In a news release, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said Cacdac personally visited the wake of Gomez on Tuesday in Paranaque City, and personally extended condolences on behalf of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to the grieving family.

"The DMW provided financial assistance through the AKSYON (Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFW na Nangangailangan) Fund to ensure immediate support for the family during this difficult time," the agency said.
