Manila, July 10 -- Former House Majority Leader Fredenil Castro on Wednesday confirmed that he is seriously studying the option of being the Minority Leader of the 18th Congress.

In a statement, the veteran Capiz lawmaker said he is keeping his options open after several of his colleagues requested him to consider seeking the minority leadership "to maintain a credible balance of opinion on all issues that the House of Representatives may be called upon to resolve."

"I am seriously studying whether I could maintain my balance considering the hairline difference between being a minority member from an opposition. This is because critical collaboration as distinguished from being destructive is called for," Castro said.
